Welcome to Penumbra - an abandoned city somewhere in central Russia, a landscape of crumbling skyscrapers and schools, churches, and playgrounds taken over by feral creatures and grasping vines. This is the home of the most detested creatures on earth: those humans who are unlike the others. Some have been forced here by their own parents; others were forcibly taken from their families by a world power who does not want the human genome corrupted. Some came here by choice; others had no where else to go. Here, every day sharpens your senses and quickens your reflexes - if only because you're fighting for your life. It's a dog-eat-dog world, but maybe somewhere in this blasted metropolis, there are those that will step up: to create a better world for the others like them.
